Glenda Rue Croley's Obituary
Glenda Rue Croley, 76, of Fayetteville, AR passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 @ Circle of Life Hospice Home, Springdale, AR. She was born January 11, 1936, in Childress, Texas.
She was a member of Wiggins Methodist Church, Fayetteville, AR
Mrs. Croley was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Croley, parents I. W. Smiley and Elizabeth Maye Whitfield, and step father, Jeff D. Whitfield.
She is survived by her sister Sandi Caster of Fayetteville, AR; sister-in-law Brenda Siciliano, six nieces, Cindy Chin, Vicky Halladay, Connie Williams, Melinda Teems and Stephanie Siciliano all of California and Kerri Hensley of Ohio.
The family thanks Glenda’s loving friend, Judy Beavers, for all the care, support and joy she brought to Glenda’s life and are also grateful for the friendship and support of Gary, Penny and Jessica Morgan, Sharon McBride and Kayla Boling.
Glenda was a retired Supervisor of Mails for the U. S. Postal Service in Modesto, California.
She was past president of the Sierra Joaquin March of Dimes in Modesto and involved in many community activities.
She had a kind, compassionate heart and contributed to many charities throughout her life. She enjoyed photography, art, music and travel. Glenda had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed meeting people. In her later years, bird watching was a favorite activity.
Her family always came first. She will be greatly missed by those left behind.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 1, at 1:00 PM at Wiggins Memorial United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, AR. The service will be conducted by Dr. Don Renshaw, Glenda’s cousin, and Pastor Gary Lunsford of Wiggins Church. Visitation will be held from noon until service time. Burial will be in the Sadler Cemetery in Sadler, Texas at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 2.
