Glenn Smith's Obituary
Glenn "Hugh" Smith, 69, of Springdale went to be with the Lord November 14, 2004 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 15, 1934 in Boise City Oklahoma to Glenn Harvey Smith and Lucille Wingert Smith. He married Charlotte Jarnagin on May 29, 1955 in Boise City Oklahoma.
Hugh and his family moved to Fayetteville from Amarillo Texas in 1972 to establish the Mr. Burger restaurant business. He owned and operated this business from March 1973 to October 1997. He was a member of a non-denominational Worldwide Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, of the home; daughters Kathy Singleton and husband Floyd, Lisa Bingham and husband Paul, son Steve Smith and wife Amy; his mother Lucille Smith; brothers Wes Smith and wife Martha, Keith Smith, Paul Smith and wife Doris; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Randy Satterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Wes Smith, Keith Smith, Paul Smith, Steve Smith, Si Smith, Richard Mayes, Vic Woodruff, Don Johnson and Jerry Gullett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of Hospice c/o Washington Regional Medical Center or the H.O.P.E Foundation in Springdale.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16, 2004 from 1:00 PM till 9:00 PM with the family-receiving friends from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM.
