Gloria Joy Jelinek's Obituary
Gloria Joy Jelinek, age 73, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on August 10, 2023. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, and was the daughter of Peter Santo and Jeanne Patrica Sigmann Santo.
Gloria earned degrees in nursing from Wayne State University and advanced nursing practice from Michigan State University. She received her law degree from the Detroit College of Law.
Gloria worked in healthcare both as a registered nurse and an attorney. She was highly regarded for her expertise in clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and quality management at Sava Senior Care, Mission Health Communities, Kindred Healthcare, Sun Healthcare and Beverly Healthcare.
Gloria is survived by her son Michael Jelinek and grandson Joseph Jelinek both of Fayetteville, AR, son Jeffery Hoffa of Grand Rapids, MI, grandson David James Hoffa of Phoenix, AZ, great-grandson Augustine Hoffa, granddaughter Sarah “Janie” Hoffa Bylsma and great granddaughter Catherine Bylsma both of St. Paul, MN.
Gloria loved music, the theater, and traveling the world. She was proud of visiting 48 states and 23 countries. She was the greatest grandmother and mom that we could have ever asked for. She was caring, loving, and if we ever had a problem, she would be right there to help us. We will always remember her for thinking of us before herself.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Entombment will be in Roseland Park Cemetery at Berkley, Michigan.
