Gordon S. Jacobs' Obituary
Mr. Gordon Spencer Jacobs, 74 of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born December 25, 1930 in Creighton, Nebraska to Ernest E. and Jeanette (Spencer) Jacobs. He was a retired Postal Manager and a member of Sequoyah United Methodist Church of Fayetteville.
Gordon was an accomplished wood worker and belonged to many organizations, the Masonic Lodge of Ramona, California and Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Royal Arch Masons of California and Fayetteville, Arkansas, Al Bahr Shrine of San Diego, California, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of San Diego and Fayetteville. Gordon was a member of the Fayetteville/Springdale Elks Lodge in Fayetteville. He also belonged to the American Legion and the Veteran?s of Foreign Wars in San Diego. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and is a current member of the USS General H. W. Butner Reunion Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Jacobs, and two brothers; Ernest E. Jacobs of Reno, Nevada and Robert L. Jacobs of Creighton, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 31, 2004 in Sequoyah Methodist Church 1910 Old Wire Road in Fayetteville. Burial will take place in Plainview, Nebraska later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shrine Hospital for Children.
