Hannah Ferguson Lee's Obituary
Hannah Ferguson Lee, age 75, a lifelong Fayetteville, Ark. resident passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at her home, on Friday, September 13, 2024. Hannah was born in the former Fayetteville City Hospital on April 10, 1949. Her parents were Carl and Jane Hannah Ferguson.
Hannah graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1967 and attended the University of Arkansas. She married her high school sweetheart Greg W. Lee on August 23, 1968.
Hannah was extremely active in the community and schools that her children attended. She served as the first ever female president of the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes Board, and also served as president of P.E.O. Chapter K and Cooperative Emergency Outreach Board. She was also a board member of the Perennial Garden Club, Washington Regional Medical Foundation, Restore Humanity, and Life Styles.
Hannah was a noted philanthropist. She was a member of the University of Arkansas Women’s Giving Circle, Towers of Old Main, and in 2008, she and her husband were named Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year by the Northwest Arkansas Association of Fundraising Professionals. She was an active supporter of Magdalene Serenity House, the Northwest Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund, and the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.
Hannah is survived by her husband Greg W. Lee; her daughter, Corie Lee Lyall and her husband Rob of Springdale; her son, Jud Lee and his wife Ashley of Fayetteville; and six grandchildren, Jack Lyall, Payne Lyall, Gregory William Lee II (Liam), Noel Lee, Luke Lee and Gray Lee.
The family would like to give thanks to the Washington Regional Medical Center Hospice team and Marieta Lisle, Hannah’s in-home caregiver.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 224 N. East Ave, Fayetteville, Ark. 72701. Reception to follow in the St .Paul’s Parish Hall. There will be a private family graveside service.
