Harold W. Fawks' Obituary
Mr. Harold W. Fawks, 88 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Sunday, January 18, 2004 in his home in Fayetteville, AR. He was born September 3, 1915 in Bogard, MO to Charles E. and Flossie M. (Worth) Fawks.
Mr. Fawks spent most of his life in Moline, IL where with his brothers owned and operated Fawks Color Co. He retired in Denver, CO where he lived for 15 years, then moving to Arkansas in 1968 where he was in the chicken and cattle business while being a substitute mail carrier at the Winslow Post Office. Along with his wife he organized the Winslow Community Meals Program and was instrumental in bringing the first doctor to the Winslow community. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Winslow United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Carmen Krambeck Fawks in December 1988 and wife of 13 years Mary Elizabeth Merrifield Fawks in May 2002.
He is survived by two daughters; Marian Krambeck Stahl of Fayetteville, AR, Martha (Marcie) Merrifield Purdy of Honolulu, HI, one son Philip Krambeck, TX, four grandchildren; Linda Pearce of Fayetteville, AR, Jeff Krambeck of Tulsa, OK, Greg Krambeck of Des Moines, IA, Doug Krambeck of St. Paul, MN, seven great grandchildren; Stefanie Gideon, Michael and Alex Cobb all of Fayetteville, AR, Greg and Matt Krambeck of Des Moines, IA, Travis and Holly Krambeck of St. Paul, MN.
