Helen Margarite Zaccanti's Obituary
Helen Margarite Zaccanti, age 78, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died in her home Friday, April 2, 2004. She was born May 31, 1925, in Custer, Kentucky to Preston and Hester Milburn. Helen married Lieutenant Alfred E. Zaccanti in New York in 1945. They met at Ft. Knox, Kentucky where Lieutenant Zaccanti was stationed.
Helen and Al moved to Fayetteville in 1952 when Captain Zaccanti was discharged from the United States Armed Services where he served in the Korean War. They made Fayetteville their home, bought a cattle and chicken ranch and raised their four children.
Helen was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were privileged to know her.
Helen is survived by: her husband Colonel Alfred E. Zaccanti of the home, her children, Mary Helen Bassett-Broyles, Alfred Zaccanti, Jr. and Edward Zaccanti, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Jacqueline Calcagni of Springdale, Arkansas; her granchildern, John Bassett, Jennifer Bassett-Stumbaugh, Kari Zaccanti, Justin Zaccanti, Patrick Calagni, Joseph Calcagni and Taylor Davis; her sisters, Irene Davis, Mildred Oliver, Flossie Trent and Ethel Prather all of Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Monday, April 5, 2004 at 2:00 PM. Reverend Monsignor James E. Mancini will be officiating the services. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home from 1:00 PM till 5:00 PM on Sunday 4, 2004. The Family will be present from 3:00 PM till 5:00 PM.
