Herman Marshall Jones' Obituary
Herman Marshall Jones, 83, of Fayetteville passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Williard Walker Hospice Home. He was born December 10, 1939, in Fayetteville to William H. “Bill” and Loretta Marshall Jones. He was a long time Washington County beef cattle farmer. He was a member of Christ Church of NWA, a former member of Central United Methodist Church and member of Asbury Sunday School Class.
He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1958 and attended the University of Arkansas. He was active in 4-H as a youth and as an adult leader and received the State 4-H Alumni Recognition Award. He was a board member and past president of Washington County Farm Bureau; Charter Member of the Arkansas Beef Council; Past board member and Chairman of the Washington County Rural Development Authority; Past Board Member and Vice-President of the Washington County Fair Association; Past Board Member and President of the Rural Mountain Producers Exchange.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marion Morgan, and Jane Morelock; brother-in-law, Dr. Teddy Morelock; niece, Leslie Morelock Roye.
Survivors include his wife, of 64 years, Jill Andrea Jones; two sons, William “Lee” Jones, and Kevin Jones (wife, Lea) of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Andrea Baird (husband, Rick) of Elkins, John Jones (fiancé, Christon) of Bella Vista, Christopher Jones of Fayetteville; three great-grandsons, Chase Baird of Elkins, Grant and Alex Jones of Missouri; brother-in-law, Doyle Morgan (wife, Carol) and nine nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 20th at Baptist Ford Cemetery with Rev. Audie Long officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19th at Nelson Berna Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Christ Church NWA, P.O.
