Homer Byrd's Obituary
Mr. Homer Byrd, 81, of Springdale, AR passed away Sunday, February 8, 2004 in his home. He was born September 23, 1922 in Oklahoma to Issic and Martha (Decker) Byrd. He was a retired long distance truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by four brothers Lorrie, Leonard, Roy and Les Byrd, and one half sister Willa Dean Byrd.
He is survived by wife Pearl Byrd, two sons; Dennis Byrd and wife Frances of Springdale, AR, Michael Byrd and wife Kathy of Fayetteville, AR, two daughters; LaDonna Monsees and husband John of San Diego, CA, Dianna Basham and husband Ricky of Springdale, AR, two sisters; Josie Belle Klotz, Bessie Kruckenberg, one half sister; Vermale Bray of Forum, OK, three half-brothers; Norman, John, Bobby Byrd, six grandchildren; Michael, Chris, and Aaron Byrd, Holly Britton, Eric Clifton, Pricilla Basham, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the family present from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM to greet friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Glenn McQueen officiating. Burial will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
