Horace Ellsworth Bryant's Obituary
Horace Ellsworth Bryant, 90, of Lowell, passed away on August 22, 2022. He was born on October 6, 1931, in Holly Grove, Arkansas, to Leon and Mary McCurley Bryant.
Horace graduated from Holly Grove High School in 1950. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1950-1954. He graduated from the Arkansas Teacher’s College (now UCA) in 1958 with a degree in General Biology. Horace obtained a master’s degree in Zoology from the University of Arkansas in 1963. He was a Fishery Biologist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service for 29 years and worked at the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services for 14 years. Horace was a beekeeper and a cattle rancher and enjoyed spending time at the local Senior Centers.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores Bryant; one son, Michael Jeff Bryant; and on brother, Don Bryant.
Horace is survived by his fiancé, Chiqui Sjovall; one son, James Mark Bryant; stepdaughter, Nancy Shirley; one sister, Carolyn Johnston; six grandchildren, Casey Bryant, Lauren Patterson, Sarah Hughes, Jessie Stuckey and Kristin Jeter, Elijah Bryant; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Fellowship Bible Church of Rogers on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 11:30AM. Burial will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville with military honors.
