Howard Lee Jones' Obituary
Howard Lee Jones, 82 of Springdale, died Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born April 13, 1940, the son of Harvey & Mildred Todd Jones. He married his sweetheart Shirley Perse on September 2, 1961, in Springdale. He was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters Carolyn Parsley & Melba June Jones, and one brother Farrell Jones.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra K. McGee of Springdale, Arkansas, Denise L. Goodman of Warren, Rhode Island., and Dana J. Jones of Springdale, Arkansas; four granddaughters, E. Rae-Ann Gilchrist (Will) of Bentonville, Arkansas, Stephanie D. Goodman of Waltham, Massachusetts, Jennifer E. Goodman of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, and Lenzie M. Blaylock (Grant) of Springdale, Arkansas; two great Grandsons, Mabrey Jones Blaylock and Beau McGee Blaylock of Springdale, Arkansas.
Howard was always willing to lend a helping hand in working on his friends’ and family’s farms. He worked 30 years in the trucking industry for Jones Truck Lines, Woodline, and Consolidated Freight Lines. He loved watching westerns, wood crafting, fishing, playing solitaire, and working in his yard. His sparkling eyes and big smile just lit up the room. He wore many hats – Christian, husband, dad, poppy, G Pops, uncle, son, brother, and a friend to all.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale, Arkansas. Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Clark Snow officiating. Burial will be at Upper Clifty Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home.
