Idella Fern Courtright's Obituary
Idella Fern Courtright, 94, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at Circle of Life in Springdale, AR.
Idella was born February 10, 1930 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Courtright, her daughter, Linda Fern Yamben, and her son, Charles Richard Courtright.
Idella married Don in 1948 and they had 3 children. Idella and Don moved to Fayetteville, AR in 1958 and built a house, where they lived until 2022, when her husband passed. She loved the lord, throughout her life, and served with both the Church of Christ and Green Valley Bible Camp. She enjoyed cooking for the camp and seeing the campers grow in their faith. In fact, she shared her joy for cooking with her children and grandchildren; however, a “pinch” and a “dash” were not standardized units of measurement. Each Sunday, Idella, would pull the family together at noon for a family dinner. She was the treasured matriarch of a large, loving family.
Idella enjoyed keeping her mind sharp by doing cryptograms and reading voraciously. She exercised daily so she would be able to take care of her husband till he passed. She was constantly surrounded by family and those who loved her. She truly devoted her life to helping others. To speak plainly, to know Idella was to love her.
Idella is survived by her daughter, Donna Marie Marenic, her 8 grandchildren, her 10 great grandchildren, and many, many great-great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville. Idella will be buried next to her husband Don at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville at a later date.
