Iva Bell Goodwin's Obituary
Iva Bell Goodwin, of Oklahoma City, formerly of the Sunset Community, died Monday, March 25, 2013, blessing us with her presence for 96 and a half years. She was born September 23, 1916 in the Sunset Community, Arkansas, the daughter of William Henry and Roxie Carmen Rush Luper.
She worked hard to provide for her family and her country as a Rosie the Riveter. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, teacher and friend, Iva Bell’s memory will live on in hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Omar Corwin Coplin; her second husband, Ted U. Goodwin and grandsons, Terry Goodwin and Michael Shawn Goodwin.
She is survived by her daughter, Carmen Coplin Caton, her son, Michael Ted Goodwin and his wife Debra. She lives on through her six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28 at Moore’s Chapel. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday at the First Assembly of God Church in Winslow and burial will be in Parks Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
