Dr. Izola Morgan's Obituary
Dr. Izola Morgan, 93, of Fayetteville, AR, passed away on October 20th. She was born on May 24, 1931, in Scott, Arkansas, to Clarence and Lelia (Reed) Preston.
She was a researcher, collaborating on publications such as The Edge of the Campus: A Journal of Black Experiences at the University of Arkansas, Oak Cemetery—nominated to the Arkansas Register, Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, and History of Black Community Woven With City, and contributing to the publication of notable lives in the CALS Encyclopedia of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Gordon Morgan, and son Bryce Morgan.
She is survived by her three children, Marsha Morgan of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Brian Morgan (Sherri) of Dumfries, Virginia; and Marian Morgan of Rochester, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Ashley Morgan, and Phillip Morgan; and one great-grandson, Ethan.
A funeral service will be held on 1 November 2024 at 11:00, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Interment will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
