Jack Dempsey Hoffarth's Obituary
Jack Dempsey Hoffarth, age 91, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born on April 27, 1929, in Springdale, Arkansas, to George Washington and Amanda (Autrey) Hoffarth. He is preceded in death by his eight siblings, Pearl Lindley, Allie Welkley, Gladys Macias, Viann Droege, Nan Delaney, Goldie Hoffarth, Charlie Hoffarth, and Jerry Hoffarth.
Jack was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas. He retired from Heekin Can/Ball Corporation in 1991 following forty-two years of service. Jack was a cattle farmer most of his life. He was a member of the Springdale Riding Club, Washington County Mounted Patrol, Arkansas Old Fiddlers Association, and was a caller for the Springdale Quadrille. Jack was an avid guitar player and loved to sing, but most of all, he loved being a husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa.
He is survived by his wife of seventy-three years, Bonnie (Stevenson) Hoffarth of the home; four children, Jackie Hoffarth and wife Becky of Vian, Oklahoma, David Hoffarth of Springdale, Michelle Lowery and husband Jack of Bentonville, and Tim Hoffarth of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Friday, April 23, 2021, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with interment to follow at Wilson Cemetery in Lowell.
