Jack Melvin Umbarger's Obituary
Jack Melvin Umbarger a long-time resident of Rogers, Arkansas passed away Saturday Morning November 13, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. Jack is survived by his wife Mary Margaret Nichols, his son Lance Umbarger of Springdale, his grandson Cameron Umbarger of Fayetteville, as well as his sister Carolyn Howard of Bentonville. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Charles Umbarger and Bonnie Ellen Beason.
Jack was born in Canon City, Colorado on August 5, 1941. He was raised on a dude ranch between Salida and Cotipaxi and rode a horse to school. As teenager he grew up in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from East High School and attended Wichita State University. He met his wife Mary in Wichita, and they were married on July 11,1960. Their son Lance was born on October 19, 1961. Jack worked for The Coleman company but moved to Rogers, Arkansas in April 1965 to become a tool designer and later an engineer. Jack went on to become a safety engineer and personnel manager at Daisy Air Rifle. Jack and his family started Northwest Beauty Supply in Rogers and he worked in the Beauty Biz till he retired in 2007.
Jack was an avid golfer and loved Colorado, the outdoors and trout fishing. Jack was a member of the Prairie Creek Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses where he loved teaching the Bible to others helping them to improve their lives by building a relationship with their heavenly father Jehovah.
