James David (J.D.) McLemore's Obituary
James David (J.D.) McLemore, 76, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born an incredible 11 ½ lbs. on May 31st, 1939, at home to E.B. and Margaret McLemore in Little Rock. He became a Christian as a young man and enjoyed serving in his church throughout his life. He married Linda (Kindy) McLemore of Little Rock on June 7th, 1962, after dating only six weeks. Their marriage has been a testament of God to their family for 53 years.
David never met a stranger, which helped him to become a successful entrepreneur in Little Rock and Alexander. He was extremely curious and gave his family a love of literature, history, and travel. He was an accomplished storyteller and spent hours sharing tales with his 22 nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife and dedicated caretaker, Linda; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa (McLemore) and Marty Turner of Fayetteville; and grandchildren Jesse, Chas, Reid, and Scarlett Turner, all of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Donald McLemore and Stanley McLemore of Little Rock; Juanita Wallace and E.B. McLemore Jr. of West Memphis.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He will be buried at Fayetteville National Cemetery. The family sincerely thanks UBC’s Israel/Johnson Bible Fellowship class, the staff at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Home Instead, and Washington Regional Hospice for the incredible care they gave David and his family.
