James Mack Gaston Jr.'s Obituary
James Mack Gaston Jr., age 71, of Winslow passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday August 2, 2024. He was born August 26, 1952 in Russellville, Arkansas to James Mack and Martha Jones Gaston. He graduated from Russellville High School in 1970 and later, the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from Hight Jackson Associates as an architectural draftsman. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dr. John Gaston.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wendy Collins Gaston; one sister, Rebecca Brown and her husband David of Russellville; three brothers, Andrew Gaston of Russellville, Timothy Gaston and his wife Joanne of Dardanelle and Daniel Gaston and his wife Cheris of Athens, Alabama as well as many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 11:30 am Friday August 9, 2024 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.wreathsacrossamerica.org or woundedwarriorproject.org.
