James "Jim" Julius Griggs Jr.'s Obituary
James “Jim” Julius Griggs, Jr., age 75, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on August 6, 2025, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born on September 28, 1949, in Monroe, Louisiana, to James Julius Griggs and Helen Marie Plunk Griggs. Jim graduated from Northeast Louisiana University College of Pharmacy. He was a retired pharmacy consultant, beginning his company, Clinical Concepts, in 1999, serving all of Arkansas. His pharmacy career began in Hot Springs, where at age 26, he opened Community Pharmacy and served and cared for his customers for 25 years.
He was a proud member of the Lake Hamilton School Board and enjoyed every aspect of supporting its programs. Jim’s greatest pride was watching his boys grow into fine men and wonderful fathers to their girls. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Griggs and Marie Griggs. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis (Pill) Griggs; sons, Brad Griggs and wife Megan, and Bryan Griggs and wife Susan; grandchildren, Carson, Kennedy, Camden, and Gray Griggs; siblings, Donna Taylor, Charles Griggs, and Leslie Griggs; and his friends for life, Paul McDowell (brother-in-law), Roger Rogers, George Griggs (cousin), and Jim Farmer.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2025, at Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery, 3077 E Grand Service Road, Hot Springs, AR 71901. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2025, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
