James "Jimmy" L Tidwell Jr.'s Obituary
James “Jimmy” Tidwell died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born January 14, 1944, in Blytheville, Arkansas and grew up in Dell, Arkansas.
Jimmy attended school in Dell and high school in Blytheville. He graduate from Blytheville High School in 1962. While attending high school, he met the love of his life, the former Loretta Mallory. They married in 1963 and welcomed a son, John, in 1966. Jimmy graduated from Arkansas State University in 1966 with a degree in accounting. They then moved to Houston, Texas where Jimmy began his accounting career with Andersen & Co. Later as a CPA he continued his career in banking in Memphis and Houston.
In 2003 Jimmy and Loretta retired in Northwest Arkansas and eventually settled in Bella Vista. They enjoyed traveling in their early years. Jimmy always tried to put others first, especially when it came to his family. His wife, son, and his wife Sara, and three grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. Jimmy was very dedicated to his family.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, James, and Betty Tidwell. He is survived by his wife Loretta, of the home, and son John and wife Sara of Bentonville, Arkansas. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Megan, Justin, and Erin, and two sisters: Rebecca Elliot of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Elizabeth Smith and husband Bruce of York, Pennsylvania.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers, Arkansas. A Visitation will held 3:00 p.m. at the Shadow Valley Country Club.
