James Kenneth Mahan's Obituary
James K. Mahan, of Springdale, passes away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 87 years young. He was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on December 20, 1935, to John Marion and Gladys Myrtle (Gibbs) Mahan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Velda Jane Mahan, his parents, Bob Mahan, Bill Mahan, Johnny Mahan, and Madge Mahan.
James was a member of the United States Marines, serving during the Korean war. He was the owner of his own electric company, Mahan Electric. He wired up most of Fayetteville’s electricity. In his spare time, James loved to golf. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville.
James is survived by his son James Mahan of Summerdale, Alabama and daughter Merna Fallin (Zachary) of Pompano Beach, Florida, and many other friends and loved ones who will miss him.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 12:30PM at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery at 1:30PM.
