James Marvin Thornsberry's Obituary
James Marvin Thornsberry, age 91, passed away Friday October 18, 2013 in Elkins, Arkansas. He was born February 23, 1922, the son of George and Lidy Mae Lester Thornsberry. He was preceeded in death by both of his parents; his wife Margaret Delilah Thornsberry; a son George Thornsberry; a grandson Brian Keith; a sister Lena Rippie; and a brother Junior Thornsberry.
He was a United States Army Veteran, and served in every major battle during World War II.
He is survived by five daughters Marilynn Matson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Mary Snawder of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Linda Thornsberry of West Fork, Arkansas, Betty Sue Gutierrez of Lake Elsinore, CA, and Brenda Thornsberry of Elkins, Arkansas; one son Jimmy Lee Thornsberry; and five generations of family.
The family request donations are made to the American Heart Association or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Graveside service with full military honors will be 2:00 P.M. October 22, 2013 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, with Marla Howe officiating.
