James T. McGlothlin's Obituary
James (Mac) McGlothlin, 97, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Rogers. He was born in Beaumont, Texas in 1918 but left shortly thereafter, moving frequently to many sates while growing up. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp. in 1934 at the age of 16, being stationed in mainland China.Upon returning to the U.S., he joined the Merchant Marines and saw service during WWII in both the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters. After the war, he became Chief Engineer and sailed on cargo ships worldwide. Settling in Southern California, he then held the position of Director of Engineering in several hospitals until retirement.He was preceded in death by June s mother, Julia Maddlyn Hodge McGlothlin.James is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, June Fields; two grandsons, Brent and Bryan Fields; two great granddaughters, and four great-great grandchildren.
