James "Michael" Clizer's Obituary
James “Michael” Clizer, age 75, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on June 7, 2024, at his home. He was born on January 13, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Norman Ralph Clizer and Gayle Caldwell Clizer. Mike was a United States Navy Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Cargill. An avid sportsman, both hunting and fishing, he was also a gardening enthusiast. Mike could be found in the mornings sipping coffee and chatting with friends at the coffee house or having breakfast at Susan’s Restaurant. Mike was never happier than working on renovation of an old automobile. He was determined to fix any car!
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Keith Alan Esarey of Alexandria, VA. He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Clizer Esarey (Michael) of Greenville, NC; his nephew Daniel Ryan Esarey(Jennifer) of High Point, NC; numerous cousins, aunts, and great nieces/nephews throughout Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Virginia. He loved them dearly.
The family expresses grateful thanks to Allison Henry, Amy Savage, and Circle of Life Hospice for easing Mike gently into his heavenly transition.
A military graveside service will be held at the Savannah Cemetery, MO, in mid-August. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.bernafuneralhomes.com. Arrangements are by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
