James Hamilton Truesdale's Obituary
James Hamilton Truesdale passed away at age 95, on Wednesday May 29, 2024. He was born in Higginsville, Missouri on August 21, 1928, to Hugh Allen Truesdale and Mary Easter Payne Truesdale.
He was awarded the Eagle Scout award in March of 1945, and earned his student pilot license in August of 1945. He attended Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, Missouri and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Kappa fraternity while at Central Missouri State College. Jim was drafted on February 6, 1951 and served in the United States Army’s 25th Infantry Division in the Korean War, and actively served from March 1951 until January 1953. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with five bronze service stars, the United Nations Korean Service Medal, and two overseas bars. He married his wife Lillian, of 65 years, on April 2, 1954. Jim worked as a research manager for Cook Paint and Varnish, and subsequently for Sherwin Williams as a new products research chemist. He was an active Boy Scout leader in Antioch, Missouri’s Troop 302 in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Jim and his wife Lillian moved to Bella Vista Arkansas in April of 1987 and spent their retirement years in their lake front home on Loch Lomond. He was an accomplished artist. He enjoyed quail and pheasant hunting with his dog Molly, fishing, and a good round of golf.
He is survived by his son James Anthony Truesdale (Mary) of Laramie, Wyoming, his grandson Christopher James Truesdale (Christina) of Miles City, Montana, and his two great grandsons James Marshall and Hugh Wayne Truesdale.
