My condolences to the family. He was one of my best friends, professor and tutor during my doctoral studies at the University of Arkansas. Also, from 2000 to 2002, I had the honor to work for him in Challenge Environmental Systems Inc.

I will always remember him, when my husband Neal passed away Jim thought Neal should have left me something he came to my office picked me up and took me to see his attorney. I shall always remember his kindness and concern for me.
He always had a smile, very friendly, was a wonderful Sunday school teacher I enjoyed the Sunday mornings when Jim was teaching.

I had the distinct privilege of interacting with Dr. Young on several occasions over the course of my career. He had a tremendous impact on the field of industrial wastewater treatment and will be greatly missed. I will always hold dear and apply the lessons I learned from him over the years.
