Gary Goodfriend
I worked with Janet for about 6 years in Dallas at Bank of NY Mellon, prior to her retirement. She was indeed a very special person. She saw the 'glass' 'half' full, which is oftentimes a rarity nowadays. She lived and exuded kindness and an uncanny level of personal concern for friend, family and strangers alike. She was infused with and a deep spiritual faith that certainly encouraged me to be a better person and rethink how I lived my own life. She saw worth and value in everyone and rarely had an unkind word. Her work ethic was extraordinary as was her sense of humor. Janet was extraordinarily positive even in the face of negativity and discord. She was an optimist as well as a realist. She always let you know how she felt and never spared words in telling you.
She lived her faith and was not given to hypocritical behavior or useless pettiness or holding a grudge or harboring resentment or anger. She was forgiving which is a struggle for many of us in our lives. I learned from experiencing the decency and humility she practiced. Rest in peace.
