Jason "Andy" Andrew Nickell's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love we mourn the passing of Jason Andrew Nickell (Andy) on March 27, 2025 at the age of 54 in Kansas City, Kansas. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Loralee; his son Cameron and wife, Caitlin; grandchildren Penelope, Noah and Wyatt; stepdaughters Lauren Silva and Ericka Baker and husband, Zac; his mother Judie; his brothers, Adam and wife, Ashley, and Aaron and wife, Shannon; many nieces and nephews. He will be joining his lifelong mentor and father, Jack Nickell, who preceded him in death on November 26, 2024.
Andy was born at Walson Army Hospital on Fort Dix in New Jersey. His family returned to Ohio before moving to Massachusetts where he graduated from Pope John High School in 1988. His life accomplishments include being a gifted athlete, a U.S. Army Veteran and a dedicated employee of the U.S. Postal Service. Andy would tell anyone who would listen that his greatest life accomplishment was his son, Cameron, and his deep love for his grandchildren.
Andy was known by many for his infectious, kind spirit. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. Following cremation, Andy will be interned in the Fayetteville National Cemetery on April 10th at 12:30pm. A memorial in Massachusetts will be held at Carafa Funeral Home in Chelsea on April 16th 4:30-6:30pm. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations made, in Andy’s honor, to the Wounded Warriors Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
