Jay Potter's Obituary
Jay Potter, 70, of Ketchum, Okla., a longtime resident of Springdale, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale after a long battle with cancer.
He was born April 4, 1941 in Bartlesville, Okla. to Jay and Velma Potter who preceded him in death.
Jay was a businessman at heart, and his entrepreneurial spirit led to the establishment of numerous businesses including the Ozark Mountain Hoe Down in Eureka Springs, ASAP Tractor and Backhoe, and most recently TriTrac Innovations. He was also an inventor and patented several inventions during his lifetime. Jay never met a problem for which he could not find a solution.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Mickna Potter; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Greg Birchfield of Springdale; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sheryl Potter of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Parker Birchfield of Springdale, and Sydney Potter, Courtney Potter, and Grant Potter of Fayetteville; one sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Jim Clark of Bartlesville, Okla.; and the mother of his children, Judy Potter of Springdale.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Church on the Lake in Ketchum, OK.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Jay’s caregivers at Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa and Circle of Life Hospice Home for the kind and compassionate care he received in his final months.
