JC Cox's Obituary
J.C. Cox, age 86, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday September 15, 2024. He was born June 22, 1938 in Waldron, Arkansas to Tom and Flossie Shores Cox. He was a retired electrician and the owner of Jay’s Electric in Springdale, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda Sue Cox; sister, Dorothy Jean Elliott; two brothers, Tom Cox Jr. and Leon Cox.
He is survived by his daughter Caroline Cox (Dinah) of Fayetteville; his son, Jimmy Cox (Deborah) of Springdale; one sister, Maudell Collins of Springdale; two brothers, Bobby Don Cox of Beebe, Arkansas and Don Lee Cox of Hobbs, New Mexico; two grandchildren, Crystal Harper (Drew) and Summer Howard (Kevin) and four great grandchildren, Wesley Harper, Rhett Harper, Sloane Harper and Marlee Howard.
J.C. was a self-made man with unparalleled practical knowledge and an admirable work ethic. As a young man, he left school early and went to work to help support his family in Waldron. He went on to serve in the Army, then worked in the oil and gas fields in California. With his young family in tow, J.C. returned home to Arkansas where he became an electrician and built a successful small business. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved spending time with family and friends hunting and fishing, although in recent years, he did more feeding and taking pictures of the deer and bear than actual hunting.
Above all, J.C. was a proud father and grandfather whose love for family knew no ends. He will be dearly missed.
Graveside service will be 1:30pm Friday September 20th, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
