Jean Jowers' Obituary
Jean was born to parents Mattie Dover Storey and Carl Jackson Storey on March 17, 1928, in Gastonia, North Carolina. In 1948, she made Fayetteville, AR her home.
Jean is survived by her husband, R. William (Bill) Jowers, Jean’s son, Peter Storey Pentz and his wife Pamela, Jean’s daughter, Martha Lowder and her late husband Tom’s son, Jay Lowder and his wife Christy, Bill’s daughter, Robin Hignight and her husband Randall, their son Grant and his wife Aileen, and their son, Henry.
It is impossible to adequately summarize Jean’s 97 years of life on this earth in a paragraph, a page, or even a book. The beautiful story of Jean is forever carried in the hearts of her husband, children and friends. If you were to ask what ONE piece of information is most important to know about Jean, it is this: By GOD’S GRACE, she was fully assured through FAITH in CHRIST JESUS of HIS GIFT of ETERNAL LIFE to her. Jean understood that her particular gifts and talents could not help her attain any special favor or promotion into God’s Kingdom; but, she served Christ in humble anticipation of receiving all He had promised her in the Bible according to 1 Corinthians 2:9-10a which says, “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit.” Jean always closed her letters to her children, ‘“Love, Mother, “A child of the King”’.
