Jean Market's Obituary
Jean Market, age 83, of Fayetteville passed away February 11, 2020. She was born October 22, 1936 in Liberty, Texas to Elmo and Frankie Sykes Tribble.
She was a longtime member of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, and her church home played an important role for her throughout life.  A native Texan, she truly enjoyed Fayetteville and its’ community.  She had many Fayetteville favorites, most notably attending events at the Walton Arts Center and enjoying Saturday morning Farmer’s Markets on the Square.  She loved fried shrimp, Mexican food, the occasional cold beer, and most of all, ice cream.
She retired from the University of Arkansas after serving for many years as an executive assistant supporting the Chancellor’s Office.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
She is survived by a daughter, Jan Wier and her husband Patrick of Kimberton, PA; two sons, Andy Market and his wife Courtney of Charlotte, NC, and David Market and his wife Katherine of Brentwood, TN; a granddaughter, Alex Market, and five grandsons, Matthew Wier, Ryan Wier, Connor Market, Andrew Market and Alan Market.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Market.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
