Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. I loved Ms. Walker so much! She was definetly an inspiration for me to become a teacher. I can hope that I will be as caring and loving as her. Every time I think of her she brings me such warmth and happiness.
Bruce, Barry, Shannon and Grandkids,I was so sorry to hear about Jean's passing. I have know Jean for 40 years and was blessed to call her a friend. I loved working with her at John Tyson Elementary for many years before she moved to Walker Elementary in Springdale. Our classrooms at Tyson were next to each other so we talked a lot. She was so proud of you as well, Barry. She will be greatly missed.
Bruce - so sorry for your loss! Terry and I will keep you in our prayers. Jean was a great person with such an awesome personality. She will be greatly missed.
I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Walker's passing. She was my first grade teacher at Tyson Elementary and one of my favorite teachers. I think of her often. She had such a big impact on my life. My first grade year was my first at Tyson. My family had gone through a lot of changes my kindergarten year and we moved in with my grandparents and I was a mess I'm sure. I can vividly recall her loving embrace, huge smile and long dark hair that I thought was about the prettiest I had ever seen back then. She loved me that year that I was going through so many changes and I am eternally grateful. I'm sure there are countless others that can say the same thing about her. To her husband, son and family...you had an amazing wife and mother but I'm sure you already know that. She left a powerful legacy behind and made a lasting impact on so many lives. I'm glad to have known her for those few years that I was at Tyson. She will be missed. Love and prayers to you all. May you take comfort in knowing that Mrs. Walker left her mark on so many and truly made this world a better place for her students.
Mrs. Walker was my second grade teacher, and I think she was the best teacher I ever had. She was a wonderful person, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to know her!
Thoughts, Prayers and Big Hugs for the entire Walker family. RIP Jean you will be missed!
Barry, So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I enjoyed working with her many years ago at Walker Elem. I also remember the fun times working as Band Boosters together. I will be praying for comfort for you and your family.
Jean was a lovely lady through and through. I worked with her for many years at Walker Elementary. I respected her greatly not only as a teacher but as a wife and mom. She loved her family, and she loved her students (which later included one of my kids). Jean touched many lives in her long career as a teacher; she lives a beautiful legacy behind. She will be missed.
To a great woman who brought much joy and laughter into my life and was a special friend. So glad you were a part of my life and a great lover of children as you loved 2 of my children that were so fortunate to have you as their teacher at Walker Elementary.
