Jeanette McCormick Long's Obituary
“Jeanette” McCormick Long (MeMe), 96, of Bentonville, Arkansas gained her eternal wings on the evening of April 19, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Jeanette was born on July 27, 1926, to Albert Layfatte McCormick and Cora Renfro McCormick in Knott, Texas. She married Virgil Edward Long on August 3, 1944, in Big Spring, Texas. She and her husband Virgil went on to have 3 children, Sandra, Kandis, and Ronnie.
Jeanette was a beauty operator in Big Spring, TX for her adult life. Upon retirement, she and Virgil moved to Bentonville, AR in 1989. Jeanette was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. First and foremost, would be her family, and friends who became family. She loved cardinals and always believed that when a cardinal appeared, angels were near which was so fitting that a flock of cardinals gathered at her window prior to her passing. She enjoyed family meals, dancing, letting everyone know her age, her dachshunds, playing cards and games, gameshows, and anything that involved friends or family. Jeanette was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so contagious, and she would light up a room. She cared so deeply for the people around her and made an impact on the lives of so many. She will be extremely missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Edward Long in 2005, son, Ronnie Long in 1978, as well as sisters, brothers, sister-in-law’s, brothers-in-law, and a grandson. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Ann Ward of Bentonville, AR, Kandis and Wesley Wright of Bentonville, AR, grandchildren, Michelle and Scott Patterson of Bentonville, AR, Shane Wright of Fort Myers, FL, Teresa and Ryan Hill of Fayetteville, AR, Shellie and Ronnie Sullivan of Texas and Lisa Pack of Texas, Great-Grandchildren, Alexis and Ian Tucker of Bella Vista, AR, Kelsey Hamlin of Bentonville, AR, Chaz and Dane Hill of Fayetteville, AR, Nicole Hallman, Lance Hallman, Tierra Hallman, Slater Beaird, Skylr Beaird, and Sydney Beaird of Texas, and great-great grandchildren, Remington Tucker of Bella Vista, AR, William Hallman, Jeremy Bond, Zena Bond, and Serina Garner of Texas.
A Celebration of Life will be held, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 11:00am at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, 100 S 28th Street, Rogers, AR 72758.
