Jens Marie Jenkins' Obituary
Jens Marie Jenkins, of Fayetteville, went home to be with her Lord on November 20, at the age of 91. She was born in Winfield, Kansas on April 8, 1926, to Hiram and Blanche (Mark) Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesse Barker, son James Barker, brothers John Marshall, Junior Marshall, and Glen Marshall, and her sister Mary Jane Stone. Jens worked at Brough Commons at the University of Arkansas for more than 20 years. She was a member of University Baptist Church in Fayetteville. She is now celebrating in Heaven. Jens is survived by her sons Alan Barker and his wife Kathy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Wayne Jenkins and his wife Melinda of Fayetteville; 6 grandchildren Micah Barker, Kara Barker, Marybeth Barker, Matthew Jenkins, Mitchell Jenkins, and Carly Jenkins; two great grandchildren Amanda Barker and Garrison Jenkins; and many other nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. There will be a visitation on Saturday, November 25, at 10:00 AM at Moore’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville, with funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Tahlequah Cemetery in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at 2:00 PM.
