Jerry Don Hudson's Obituary
To have known Jerry Don Hudson was to be part of a community that he cherished deeply. He was a genuine, kind-hearted countryman with a profound love for his family and an unparalleled ability to connect with everyone he met. Jerry was a familiar face at the local farmers market each summer, proudly sharing his homegrown pork and chicken eggs, a testament to his love for the community.
On June 26, 2024, at the age of 68, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to join his parents in heaven.
Jerry Hudson was born on December 19, 1955, in Chandler, Oklahoma, to the late J.D. Hudson and Paulien Holmes Hudson. He grew up in Lincoln, Arkansas, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974. He cherished the Holmes family reunions, where he reveled in the company of loved ones and the joy of good food.
Jerry’s passions were many and varied. He delighted in classic car shows, dog shows, fishing, boating, and agriculture. Movie nights with his family were a treasured way for him to unwind and share special moments.
Despite suffering a stroke in 2019, Jerry faced his new challenges with unwavering determination, never giving up and always ensuring his family felt his love and support.
Jerry was blessed with the dedicated care of Elizabeth Hudson for the last five years of his life, and we will always be grateful for this.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer Hudson, George Hudson, Diana Laco, and Carley Roebuck, and his grandchildren, Theodore Laco, Elaina Laco, and Thatcher Laco.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, July 5, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, funeral services begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery.
Jerry’s legacy of love, strength, and connection will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
