Jerry Don Spurlock's Obituary
Jerry Don Spurlock, age 70, of Winslow passed away peacefully at his home on August 28, 2020.
Jerry was born March 25, 1950 to Reta Maxine (Smith) Spurlock and Emert Jay Spurlock. He was preceded in death by his parents and best friend and brother Larry Dale Spurlock.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Stasha Spurlock. He is also survived by his daughter Erika Bowles and husband Robert of West Fork; son Shelby of Winslow; children Angie (Larry), Misty (Robert), Jerry (Laura) and Kevin. Jerry leaves behind his loving granddaughter Jaiden Bowles and grandson Beau Spurlock, as well as many other grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory is his nephew Brandon Spurlock, nieces Brandi Spurlock, Brittany (Spurlock) Mohr, and many other nieces and nephews.
Jerry was an associate minister at a church in Brentwood, right outside of Winslow. Jerry loved Jesus with every ounce of his being, and he always showed the love of Jesus wherever he went. Jerry was a fighter, he fought long and hard to stay with us as long as he could. He never lost faith in Jesus and made sure his family knew that Jesus would see him through. To know Jerry was to love him. In 2017, Brandon and Jerry opened “the crazy shack across the tracks”, The Sugar Shack.
Jerry never needed new and shiny things. That is why, in lieu of flowers, Jerry would only want people to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, so we can all live together in Heaven one day.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Macechko for absolutely everything he did for Jerry, and for touching his life in the way he did. We would also like to thank all of the doctors and
nurses at Washington Regional, Northhills Dialysis Center and Washington Regional Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 4, 2020 at Moore’s Chapel.
Any memorials may go to Gideons International, P.O. Box 4507, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72702.
