Jerry Orville Thomas' Obituary
Jerry Orville Thomas, age 84, of Rogers passed away Thursday July 2, 2026, in Bentonville. He was born November 27, 1941, in Hiwasee, Arkansas, the son of Albert and Laura Sandlin Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kresha Claudine Thomas, his brothers Aaron Thomas and Johnny Thomas, and his granddaughter Kresha Megan Thomas.
He worked as a tool and dye maker, as well as a valve inspector at Crane in Rogers. He served as President of the Local Steelworkers of America Union. He was also a proud Master Mason for over 50 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cave Springs where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. While Jerry wasn’t able to attend church in person his last few years, he still prayed for the lost and was a devout Christian. Spending time with all of his family brought Jerry the most joy in his life. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. Jerry enjoyed boxing in his younger years; was an avid Chicago Cubs fan; and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. Jerry enjoyed being outside – keeping his yard looking great, playing catch with the baseball, beating everyone in a game of Horse, and piddling in his shop.
Jerry blessed so many people throughout his life. At the end of his life, the Circle of Life blessed him and helped Jerry leave this world with grace. The family can’t thank all the staff there enough. Jerry’s wish for everyone is to find salvation and find the same peace he did throughout his life.
He is survived by his two brothers Dwight and Max Thomas; son Kevin and wife Tina Thomas, son Kirby Thomas and Kimberly Olds, and son Kerry and wife Melissa Thomas; grandsons Steffin, Dakota, Dre, Stephan, Jacob, Corey, and Brian; great grandsons Brayden, Kaysen, Reese, and Maverick; great granddaughters Alura, Naudia, Akeelah, Paisley, Hadley, Isabella, Everly, Sophia, Irelyn, Megan and Adalyne; one great great grandson Sevan; and two bonus great grandchildren Arianah and Landon.
A visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday July 6, 2026, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Cave Springs.
