Jerryldene Payton's Obituary
Jerryldene (Davis) Payton went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 94 on November 17, 2025. Born on September 6, 1931, at Sunset Mountain Arkansas, to Jack Davis and Gertie Evans Davis.
Jerryldene was a loving and devoted Sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She delighted in having her family and friends close.
She was a faithful Christian and member of Buckner Baptist Church for many years. She had a strong faith and lived her life to be an example for all in her life. She had a heart for missions; her most recent mission was sewing beautiful little children’s dresses to be given to African children in need. For many years she owned Brannon Draperies and was an amazing seamstress! She especially loved sewing for her grands and great grands! She enjoyed creating and tending to her flowers and plants, and watching birds and butterflies coming to visit the gardens while listening to the calming sound of a wind chime.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Clyde Warren Davis and Eldon Wayne Davis; sisters Jackie Lavonne Davis, Gladys Marie Cox, Anna Mary “Bunch” Dennis, Floy Belle “Flo” Taber, Bonnie Bea Miller, and Carmel Leta Elkins; 3 husbands, Aften Brannon (loving father of her children), Alton Johnston, and Eugene Payton; One son, Robert “Bob” Brannon; and one great grandson Brannon Vanhook.
She is survived by her brother Weldon Sonnie Davis; her daughter Glenda “Suzy” (Brannon) Manion of Huntsville; Sara Reeves (husband, Jeffery Reeves) of Huntsville, AR.; 6 grandchildren Chris Brannon (Shelly), Lance Brannon (Theresa), Chase Trost (Morgan), Robert Reeves (Nicole), Lauren Vanhook (Andrew), Will Reeves (Kallie); 7 great grandchildren, Brody Brannon, Kendall, Davis, Reeves, Owen and Klayleigh Reeves, Asher and Annaleigh Vanhook; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services are entrusted to Moore’s Chapel and will be held at The Brannon Mountain Church Monday November 24th at 2pm with Pastor Jasper Hankins officiating. Visitation will be 1PM until service time.
Pallbearers are Robert Reeves, Will Reeves, Andrew Vanhook, Lance Brannon, Brody Brannon, Chris Brannon, Chase Trost, and Patrick Sinyard.
