Jimmie Douglas Cornelius' Obituary
Jimmie Douglas Cornelius, 76, of West Fork, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 28, 1936 in Salem, Arkansas, the son of James Taft Cornelius and Iona Lawyer Cornelius. He owned and operated the Jim’s Grocery and Market in West Fork in the 60’s and 70’s. He enjoyed his farm and cattle and worked to clean and clear the land to make better pastures. He also enjoyed horses, mules and coon hunting, as well as visiting with his friends and family. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlene, two daughters, Kathy Cornelius, of West Fork, LaDonna Brown of Florida, two sisters, June Armstrong of Batesville, AR, and Vearl Croft, of Lebanon, MO; five grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Jim will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Moore’s Chapel, Fayetteville, AR.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Crystal Webster Memorial Nurses Scholorship, UAMS, 4301 West Markham, Slot 529, Little Rock, AR 72205.
Arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
