Maj Jim Gray was my ROTC instructor at Miami (OH). He was a mentor to me and inspired me to a 24-year career in the U S Air Force. I was also inspired by the way he & Bev managed their family. I was fortunate enough to be assigned to Little Rock AFB when Col Gray was stationed there. We were able to maintain that relationship. After Col Gray retired and taught at North Little Rock High School, I was reassigned to Little Rock and reestablished the relationship with the Grays. I will always be grateful for the mentorship of Jim & Beverly Gray.

It was indeed a pleasure to teach with Jim Gray! He was a selfless leader at NLRHS East Campus. What an example for the students and staff! His dedication and commitment were second to none. Watching him support his wife during her cancer journey was touching and remarkable. We shared many fun times together, and it was a joy to be around Jim.

I send my condolences to the entire Jim Gray Family. Jim meant so much to so many people. He was an outstanding mentor to me, and others, during my teaching career and beyond. Jim was a pillar of the NLRHS - East Campus faculty and a true teacher leader for all of us. He encouraged me in so many ways, and led me to consider school leadership as a future in my career. Jim was a enormous positive influence on my life.

He would help anyone, and he truly embodied the servant leader persona. I admired his ability to reach students, thousands of students, and help them achieve their full potential. Jim gave meritorious service to our country, our community, and our students.

I will forever remember Jim Gray for all the good that he did and the positive impact that he had on everyone he met and knew.
