Jimmie Lou Whorton's Obituary
Jimmie Lou Whorton, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on May 2, 2024, in Springdale, Arkansas, at the age of 79. Born on September 6, 1944, in Springdale to the late Roy and Edith (Davis) Bowman, Jimmie Lou was a cherished member of her community.
For over three decades, Jimmie Lou dedicated herself to serving the city of Springdale through her work in the water department. Her commitment to her job and her community left a lasting impact, earning her respect and admiration from all who knew her.
Jimmie Lou was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, Jeff Whorton. She is survived by her son Toma Whorton and his wife Andrea, along with their daughters Shayle, Mia, and Tylie of Springdale. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Marshawn Whorton and her daughter Charlie, both of Springdale, as well as her sisters Wilma Patrick and Hazel Sanders and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation to honor Jimmie Lou's life will be held from 9:30 am – 10:30 am. at Cross Church of Rogers Chapel on the Creeks on Friday May 10th with Funeral Service beginning at 10:30 am, followed by a burial at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens.
