Jimmy D. Benson's Obituary
Jimmy D. Benson, age 85, of Washburn, Missouri, died Monday, February 9, 2015 in Joplin, Missouri. He was born September 8, 1929 in Minco, Oklahoma, the son of Oscar Gaines and Eunice Price Benson.
He was retired from the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Christian faith and was a member of the NRA.
He is survived by his children by his first marriage, Oscar Benson of China, Leigh Reza of California, Micheal Benson of Arkansas, Laura Clipper of Arkansas, Tim Benson of Texas, Kevin Benson of Michigan; his wife, Edna Benson of the home and their children, Pablo Benson of Florida, Andres Benson of Indiana, Lydia Blake of Florida and Mauricio Benson of Texas; a sister, Joyce Horton of Oklahoma; twenty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday at Moore’s Chapel followed by burial at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
