Jimmy Richard Williford's Obituary
Jimmy Richard Williford, age 75, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was born October 11, 1943, in Forrest City, Arkansas, the son of Woodrow and Lucille Davis Williford.
Jimmy attended Arkansas State University where he majored in agriculture. In 1969, he moved to Fayetteville as the assistant manager at Luby’s Cafeteria. The bulk of his career was at Allen Canning where he was a field representative for over 30 years. During his time with Allen Canning Company his job took him to Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. He never met a stranger and had many friends who enjoyed his company. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Hospitality was his specialty. He was an accomplished cook whose recipes served large numbers. He loved a good fish fry. Jimmy had a joke for every occasion. He was a master story- teller.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy Duncan Williford; a daughter Courtney Dutton and her husband Jared of Fayetteville; a son, Jason Williford and his wife Amanda of Farmington; a sister, Linda Poindexter and her husband Tommy of Forrest City; a brother, Loyd Williford and his wife Fran of Memphis, Tennessee; two grandsons, Gunner Dutton and Hudson Williford; and a brother-in-law, John Duncan and his wife Saribeth of Sheridan, Arkansas.
The family is grateful to the nurses and staff that cared for Jimmy at The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows and other facilities over these last few years.
