Joan (Kaitschuk) Armstrong's Obituary
Joan Caroline (Kaitschuk) Armstrong, 89, passed peacefully to Heaven on Sunday, April 19, 2026, reuniting with her husband, Bruce, and their beloved daughter, Heather, who passed one week ago. We are comforted to know they are all together again. Joan was born on April 13, 1937, in Oak Park, IL to Erwin Kaitschuk and Marjorie (Ladd) Kaitschuk. She moved to Williams Bay, WI at an early age where she grew up to marry her high school sweetheart, Bruce MacLeod Armstrong. Joan was the true matriarch of the Armstrong family raising three boys and devoting her life to caring for Heather. We are blessed that Joan instilled such an incredibly strong sense of family values that have passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Joan graduated from the University of Wisconsin where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She taught elementary school for several years. When the Armstrong family moved to Fayetteville in 1973 to open the Armstrong Bros. Tool Co., Joan made many deep and lasting friendships. She loved gardening and was a long-standing member of the Maple Hills Garden Club. She was a member of the Fayetteville Country Club Women’s Golf Association and enjoyed playing a quick 9 holes on Wednesday mornings with friends.
Joan was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fayetteville, AR.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce M. Armstrong, Sr, and her daughter Heather. She is survived by her three sons Bruce (Karen) Armstrong, Rob (Beth) Armstrong, and Spencer (Kristin) Armstrong, seven grandchildren Meredith (Thomas) Puckett, John Armstrong, Nick Armstrong, Reid (Stephanie) Armstrong, Jill Armstrong, Jack Armstrong, and Bruce W. Armstrong, and two great-grandchildren Emma Armstrong and Thomas Puckett, all of Fayetteville, AR.
We invite all to celebrate both Joan and Heather at a visitation gathering on Wednesday, April 22nd from 3:00-5:00 pm at the Elks Lodge, 4444 N. Crossover Road, Fayetteville, AR.
