Joan and I shared being grandmas to Charlie Jo, Tyler, Levi and Henry Brack.
Irwin and I always looked forward to seeing Joan and Gene whenever they visited Chuck and Mary and their family. From the first time I met Joan, I felt her genuine spirit of care for others. We always enjoyed our time visiting with them.
Here's one cute memory of Joan.
A few years back, I was going through my missed calls for that day and I had one from Joan at 7am.
I was a little surprised by this and asked my daughter if everything was alright. She said all was good. Relieved, I returned Joan's call. Joan too was surprised by my call because she had no idea that she called me. We had a little chuckle together and proceeded to have a lovely conversation. We talked for a bit about our families and specifically how grateful she was that Chuck and Mary found each other and that they were a good match. We talked about the importance of family and that we were so happy to be family. Joan and I shared a very sweet, and loving conversation even though it started out in error. We both laughed about how we knew in our hearts this conversation was meant to be.
Family times will not be the same without Joan. I will miss spending time with her greatly.
And heaven's got another angel.
