Joan Gay Cromwell's Obituary
Joan Gay Cromwell, 77 of Prairie Grove passed away Wednesday, April, 16, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.
She was born August 3, 1930, in New Orleans, LA., the daughter of Henry Joseph Loisel, Jr. and Dorothy May Clay Loisel. She attended the Eleanor McMain High School in New Orleans, LA, then attended Loyola University for two years, Joan graduated in 1951 from the U.S. Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill. as an Honor Wave and completed Airman School in 1952 at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Jacksonville, Florida. Later she was a homemaker, medical laboratory technician, emergency medical technician, owned Hobby Lobby in Lincoln, AR, was an artist, and enjoyed doing crafts. She was a Seventh-Day Adventist and devoted to her faith. She was preceded in death by her son, Dwain Allen Rhoads.
She is survived by her brother Lynn Loisel of New Orleans, LA.; six children, Stephen Wayne Rhoads of Mandeville, LA., Jann Elaine Rhoads of Malvern, AR., Patrick Michael Rhoads of Pflugerville, TX., Ginger Rhoads Kraemer of Hammond, LA., Robin Lynn Rhoads of Jacksonville, AR., and Gretchen Christine Neumann of Farmington, AR.; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial Service will be Monday, April, 28, 11:00 A.M. at the Lincoln Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Her finial resting place will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
