Joe Allen Brown's Obituary
Joe Allen Brown, age 81, of Rogers passed away Thursday January 9, 2025, in Rogers. He was born September 25, 1943, in Albany, California, the son of John and Marcia Hailey Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served from 1967 to 1971, at Bergstrom AFB, Austin, Texas. After service, he made his home in Austin, Texas, where he had maintained friendships from his service time. He was employed with the Del Valle Schools. He was an elementary, junior high, and high school principal during his time at Del Valle. Joe received his Master of Education at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State). Joe’s undergraduate degree was in education from Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Upon graduation, he became employed by the Webb City Schools in Missouri where he taught sixth grade. Again, he met new friends and formed lasting relationships. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, wife Midge. Joe almost made it to his 57th year of marriage. It was a marriage made in heaven! Joe loved to read his Bible while in the sunroom, he loved the outdoors and spending time at the cabin, feeding the deer and checking on his cameras. He loved to spend time with his grandkids! He was so proud to have die-hard hunters for grands!!
Before retirement, Joe was employed by Decatur Schools as Superintendent. Again, Joe net new friends and formed lasting relationships.
He is survived by his wife Midge Brown; his two children Derek Brown, wife Shellie of Bentonville; Diana Weaver, husband Adam of Rogers; five grandchildren Bailey, Hannah and Beau Brown, and Brig and Caselyn Weaver; two siblings Janie Combrink of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Bill Brown of Norman, Oklahoma.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Cross Church Pinnacle Hills with Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens with Military Honors under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers.
