John ''Jack'' Clymer Dunegan's Obituary
John Clymer “Jack” Dunegan, Jr., age 83, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Fayetteville. He was born in Macon, Georgia April 26, 1928, the son of John Clymer Dunegan, Sr. and Mildred Esher.
When John “Jack” was 2 months old he moved with his parents to Fayetteville, Arkansas. He attended Fayetteville public schools and graduated from FHS in 1945. Jack graduated from the University of Maryland and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
He spent 27 years as contracting officer for the U. S. Navy Strategic Systems Program designing and building nuclear missiles for the Polarus, Poseidon and Trident submarines.
Jack and his wife Rhea moved back to Fayetteville in August 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Rhea; daughter Dede Dunegan and husband Robert Rodriguez of Sonoma, CA; step-daughter Janie Segraves Ward and husband Dean of Fayetteville and step-son Patrick Warren Segraves and wife Denise of Palm Beach, FL.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
