Since their school days, John and my parents, Jim and Bobbye Straight, shared a special and close friendship. They enjoyed recounting stories of teenage escapades like tapping into the ColHi PA system to play rock-n-roll music and driving the Jeep Willy through the streets of Bartlesville to rescue motorists stuck in the snow. In more recent years, the close ties they shared offered safe harbor in times of hardship and loss. I came to know John myself, not just as a friend of the family, but also as a good man with boundless curiosity and zest for life. Rest well, John. You will be missed.
